Refreshing a COME listing versus clearing app data

Refreshing a website and clearing an installed app's data are different actions. Use the least disruptive step that matches the information you want to update.

For a web listing

A browser refresh requests the page again. If you suspect old displayed information, reopen the known source and compare its version fields. You do not need to clear COME's app data just to reread a web page.

For an installed app

Android's storage controls can affect local app information and access. Read the confirmation before clearing anything. App data is not a replacement for a browser page cache, and deleting it may require signing in again.

For conflicting records

Keep the current installed version, listed version and page-check time separate. If a discrepancy remains, record it. Avoid repeatedly clearing different storage areas without knowing which one owns the information.

A useful next step

Use the appropriate interface to refresh a record while preserving account access.
